As of June 2026, Roping Desk is live as a full downloadable program, as well as a Trial Program. 

Roping Desk is currently priced at a 1 time fee of $500.

Starting January 1st, 2027, the fee will be $750.

Once you purchase Roping Desk and download it to your computer, it is yours forever. I do not plan on ever implementing a yearly subscription cost. 

As a secretary myself, I am subject to high production cost with computers, printers, programs, supplies, and everything in between. I have developed my pricing with high secretary costs in mind, while still accounting for the countless hours of work that not only went into the creation of this program, but also the experience in and out of the arena that allowed me to gain the knowledge to make it.

I have created a downloadable version of Roping Desk that is exactly the same as the full paid version, with some limitations. All features are present, but only 10 teams may be entered, and only 2 jackpots may be created at a time (1 Team Roping and 1 Breakaway).

You will click on the link to begin the download process. A screen will appear where you will type in the given License Key, and then the download will complete, and Roping Desk will be on your computer.

The Internet is required for original downloads and updates, but never during regular use of the program.

I have included, quite honestly, every feature I can think of into this program. You should be able to do everything from run a Wednesday night roping with 30 teams, to a 7-day event with thousands of teams and multiple arenas.

The program requires internet to download, and then runs fully offline after that so you can run a roping anywhere, with any kind of service.

There is full functionality for both Team Roping and Breakaway Ropings at any level, both with and without numbers, handicaps, incentives, and more.

I am constantly working on this program and making it the best it can be, by fine tuning existing features, and adding even more functionality. When a new update of the program is complete and ready for public use, I will send a download to all email addresses that have purchased the program. You will simply download the file, and all updates will be currrent on your program. Updates do not modify or delete any existing data on your program. You will simply have the newest features.

I am open to any and all feedback on the program and if there is anything you would like adjusted, please do not hesitate to reach out. Wether you have a small functionality change, or a large feature I have not thought of, please let me know and I will do my best to make the changes on the next update. I welcome this type of open communication between Roping Desk users and myself, as I want this program to be the best version it can be, for all of us.

Networking for large ropings run on multiple computers is a feature I spent a lot of time adding. I personally use it frequently when running my own ropings, and I wanted it to be seamless for both myself and everyone else. Networking can be done on up to 10 computers, through either an ethernet cable or by being on the same Wifi network.

Host: starts a local server, gets an IP address to share, broadcasts every change to all “clients” instantly.

Clients: enter host IP, receive full data sync on connect, send every change back to host which rebroadcasts to everyone.

Failover: clients keep a full local copy, if the host crashes, any client can promote themselves to host with a button. 

Status bar: one line at the top of the app on every screen: "Host — 3 clients" or "Client — Connected to 192.168.1.5" or "Client — Reconnecting..."

When networking, all computers need to have their own paid version of the program.

I have also built in a failsafe for clients to take over as host if the host computer crashes.

As the Host computer, all data is broadcasted to clients, taking over the data they previously had. After the session has ended, the Host maintains all data from the session, and client computers return to their exact state before connecting to the Host. If a client computer takes over as the Host, everything stays the same during the session. After the session, the new Host (previous client), maintains data from the session and also regains their data from before.

Roping Desk will work seamlessly with most computers. However, you must have a computer running Windows 10 or higher. Storage is not generally an issue, the program itself does not take up very much space. I would recommend a computer with at least 128 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM for it to run comfortably. To ensure the program runs as fast as possible and never has issues, 256 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM are preferred, but not required. Less than 128GB of storage will still work, but you may run into issues after a long time of accumulating jackpots. Less than 4GB of RAM is not a good idea, solely because Windows itself uses about 2 to 3 GB in the background at any given time. This leaves very little space for your computer to do anything else.
